Acquisition of Great Ability for Football
Being born in Argentina, Lionel Messi was from a poor family. In spite of their money-related difficulties, Messi’s father was resolved to bring out the best in his kids. Lionel always had a great ability for football and thus he was enabled to build up his ability by his father. At just the age of 5, Messi began his football training at the neighbourhood football group club. To support his training, he even used to serve tea at a shop. Strived to Survive in Challenges
At the age of 11, Messi encountered one of his greatest life-challenge when he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency which restricted his growth. Due to this disorder, he had always been an exceptional footballer, being much shorter and a lot more fragile than the other kids in his age group. But that didn’t discourage Messi. But due to lack of fund to sponsor Messi’s high medical bill which costs $900 per month, Messi was rejected by Argentina’s River plate FC club. What can be more debilitating than this? Yet, Messi never gave up. Even in the midst of challenges, he never surrendered and strived to survive.
A Chance Given at Club’s Youth Academy
Despite great challenges of life, Messi remained optimistic, which rewarded him at the age of 13. Carlex Rexach, the sporting director of FC Barcelona was made aware of his talent in soccer. He discovered the great talent in Messi and decided to invest in him. He offered Messi a contract written on a napkin paper and also, offered to sponsor Messi’s medical bills. Messi was moved to Spain where Messi was enrolled in the Club’s Youth Academy, known for training and producing excellent footballers.
Youngest Player to Ever Score a Goal
Messi was determined to judiciously utilize the opportunity given to him. So, he trained vigorously well and proved himself worthy. His aptitudes in soccer made him a conspicuous footballer. At the age of 16, he first appeared for Barcelona which further led Barcelona to success. In May 2005 and at the age of 18, he broke the record as the youngest player to ever score a goal in the wake of scoring 49 objectives in the 2009 season, his director stated, “Lionel Messi is the best player he had ever observed.” A great level of certainty has been created by the people towards him due to his brilliant performance.
Milestones Achieved by Lionel
At the age of 25, Messi became the youngest player to score 200 La Liga goals. He broke a record by being the first soccer player to win four FIFA award consecutively. He was also the first to win three European Golden Shoe awards. On 16th Feb 2013, Messi scored his 300th Barcelona goal. Till today, Messi remains the highest goal scorer ever known.
